Sonny With A Chance
is a fun new Disney original comedy series about a show within a show.
Starring Demi Lovato (Camp Rock) as Sonny Monroe, a teen from
Wisconsin who is selected to move to Hollywood and join the cast of the
popular live comedy show So Random! The show includes lots of laughs
as Sonny learns what it’s like to work in Hollywood and live in the
spotlight. Not all of Sonny’s cast members are happy to have her around and
though she tries to fit in, it doesn’t always work.
The show’s theme song “So Far, So Great” is performed by the show’s star
Demi Lovato – who has recently launched a music career.
The Sonny With A Chance – Sonny’s Big Break DVD includes four
hilarious episodes including:
“Sketchy Beginnings” about Sonny’s first day on the set of So Random!
“West Coast Story” where Sonny tries to make peace between her cast from
So Random and a rival cast from Mackenzie Falls, which is also
filmed on the same sound studio.
“Cheater Girls” where when faced with being taken off the show by her Mom
(Nancy McKeon) because of falling grades in Math, Sonny lets cast member
Tawni (Tiffany Thornton) talk her into cheating on her test. Before going
through with it, Sonny confesses and is removed from the show anyway but
realizes that she knows the answers and completes her test on her own.
“Sonny at the Falls” where Chad (Sterling Knight) the star of Mackenzie
Falls tries driving a wedge between Sonny and her cast mates… And it
almost works.
Bonus features include
the “Mackenzie Falls Season Finale Cliffhanger,” a clip of Demi’s original
audition and an additional bonus episode “Sonny in the Middle” where Sonny
almost ruins her cast mates Nico (Brandon Smith) and Grady’s (Doug Brocho)
friendship.
Though the show has it’s silly moments, Sonny With A Chance is really
a good show that can be enjoyed by kids and their parents and even delivers
some positive messages sometimes.
